Kinetiq Brief is in active development. Here's what we've added and improved — much of it straight from beta testers' feedback.

29 Aug 2026

  • NewSet up a savings plan. If you invest a fixed amount on a schedule — say €35 a week into an ETF — add it once in Settings, choose which day it starts (set it to your next broker purchase so the reminders line up), and each period Kinetiq nudges you on the Portfolio page to apply that contribution at the current price. It updates the holding's quantity and average cost for you. You always confirm — it never buys or simulates on its own, and you can pause or remove a plan anytime.
  • NewSee your recurring commitment at a glance. Your Portfolio page now shows a "Savings plans" card with your total monthly contribution across all plans — click it to see each one (ticker, amount, frequency and when it's next due).

25 Aug 2026

  • ImprovedImporting your broker file is far more reliable. It now reads broker exports like Trade Republic correctly (it was mis-reading columns before), understands ISINs as well as tickers, and turns a transaction history — every buy and sell — into your current positions with a weighted average cost.
  • NewStuck on a file with unusual columns? Click "Let AI read it" and our AI figures out the column mapping for you. Only your column names and a few sample rows are sent (never your whole file), the AI only maps the columns — it never changes your numbers — and you always review the parsed holdings before anything is imported.
  • ImprovedRe-importing now updates your existing holdings instead of skipping them. If you invest regularly (DCA) and your quantities have grown, just re-import your latest file — the preview shows exactly what changes (e.g. "32.74 → 34.10") before you confirm, so nothing is overwritten silently.

17 Aug 2026

  • NewClick any holding to see its price chart. Open a holding from your Portfolio table or the Overview holdings map and view its price history over 1M / 3M / 1Y / 5Y / Max — hover the line to read the value on any day.
  • ImprovedYour value-over-time chart is interactive now too: hover any day to read its value, switch the scale between your currency and %, and read the dates and levels straight off the axes.

16 Aug 2026

  • NewSee how each holding is doing since you bought it. When you've entered an average cost, your Portfolio now shows unrealized gain or loss per position. And! a total across the holdings you've costed, converted to your base currency. It's price-only (excludes dividends and fees) and clearly labelled as such.
  • NewExport your holdings to CSV in one click, from the Portfolio page. The file uses the same format the importer reads, so it round-trips cleanly.
  • NewInterests you follow but don't own now surface their own stories. Follow a theme like renewable energy, cybersecurity or defence and your Brief pulls relevant news for it (clearly marked as something you don't hold), instead of staying silent until you own it.
  • ImprovedCleaner, more trustworthy news. Low-quality and clickbait sources ("ChatGPT says…", "X is dead") can no longer be flagged as material, and reputable wires rank higher. Your Portfolio also shows tidier share/crypto quantities and calls out only live prices, so end-of-day values stop shouting.
  • ImprovedResetting your password is smoother: the new-password screen now has a confirmation field and a show/hide toggle on each box, so typos can't slip through.

15 Aug 2026

  • NewChoose how much you want to see. A new Simple view keeps things lean — your holdings, the news that matters, the market backdrop and your theses, with a plain one-line risk flag — while Full keeps every metric and tool. Set it when you sign up, switch anytime in Settings.
  • ImprovedEven in Full view, the heaviest analysis (ETF look-through) tucks behind a 'Show advanced' toggle, so pages read clean by default. Your sector, currency and geography breakdowns stay visible in both views — seeing how spread out you are is core, not advanced.
  • ImprovedSimple view now speaks plainer, too: 'Share' instead of 'weight', 'Effect on your total' instead of 'contribution', and clearer section names — the layout and the language match.
  • NewA Simple/Full switch now sits right in the sidebar, so you can flip between the lean and the full view in one click, from anywhere.

14 Aug 2026

  • NewA new "Market backdrop" section in your Brief. The big macro movers each week — interest rates, the US dollar, oil, gold and market risk — each with a one-line plain-English explanation and how exposed your portfolio actually is to it. Context for your holdings, never a recommendation.
  • ImprovedYour European-listed holdings (funds ending in .AS, .DE, .L) now get real news coverage. They previously returned nothing, which made the Brief lean too heavily on whatever did — often US stocks and crypto.
  • ImprovedThe developments section is better balanced across your holdings: no single loud feed (crypto especially) can crowd out news about the rest of your portfolio.
  • NewA plain-English guide, "Why things you don't own still move your money", explains how rates, the dollar, oil and market swings reach your portfolio — linked right under the Market backdrop. And the methodology page now spells out exactly where the news comes from and, honestly, what's still thin during beta.
  • ImprovedThe Risk Radar now explains its "attention threshold" — the amber line on each bar — as a flag for awareness (never a limit or advice), with a note on each measure and the exact levels and reasoning documented on the methodology page. The unused "event risk" meter was removed.
  • NewSet your own Risk Radar thresholds. In Settings you can choose the concentration levels at which your Brief flags a position, your top 3, or tech exposure — your tolerance, not ours. Changes apply across all your Briefs instantly.
  • ImprovedThe methodology page now documents how portfolio type, per-holding diversity, crypto-noise damping and macro exposure shape your ranking — and the sample Brief shows the Market backdrop in action. Site copy was swept for accuracy across pricing, data-freshness and asset coverage.

13 Aug 2026

  • NewBonds and commodities are now first-class holdings. Add government and corporate/high-yield bonds (Treasuries, investment-grade, high-yield) and commodities (gold, silver, copper and broad commodity indices) — priced live like any other holding, and shown as their own slices in your allocation.
  • NewFive new interests to follow beyond your holdings: Commodities, Precious metals, Industrial metals, Government bonds (rates) and Corporate / Credit.
  • ImprovedCSV import is far more forgiving. Drop in a broker export as-is — columns can be in any order, extra columns are ignored, and it reads symbols, tickers or ISINs. You now see exactly what will be added and confirm before anything is saved.
  • NewIf a CSV has unusual column names we can't recognise, you can now map the columns yourself — just tell us which is the symbol, the quantity and the cost — so almost any broker file can be imported without reformatting it.
  • NewNot sure about the format? There's a 'What can I upload?' guide with an example and a downloadable template, right on the import screen.
  • NewImporting is now one step from the start: choose 'Import my portfolio' during setup, or use the Import button on an empty portfolio, and you land straight on the importer.
  • ImprovedClearer numbers in your Brief. The return column is now labelled "Price return" and defined right where you read it — it's the price change over the week in each asset's own currency, excluding dividends and currency effects (your total return in your base currency also moves with FX).
  • Improved"Most important development" is now "Most relevant development" — a more honest name for what it is: the story that ranks highest for your holdings, not a subjective call on importance.

12 Aug 2026

  • NewYour Brief now adapts to how you invest. Choose a portfolio type — long-term, income, balanced, active/swing, or short-term — and it changes which stories rise to the top and how the analysis is written: a short-term trader sees more catalysts and fast-moving news, a long-term investor sees more structural, thesis-affecting developments, an income investor sees more on dividends and payouts. It never changes your numbers and never becomes a recommendation.
  • NewPortfolio type is now editable anytime in Settings, each option explained in plain English — it was previously set once and buried.
  • ImprovedChanging your password now asks for your current password and a confirmation, with a show/hide toggle on each field — safer, and no more silent typos.
  • ImprovedThe add-holding screen is clearer about currency: each asset shows its own trading currency and every amount field says which currency it expects, all converted to your display currency automatically.
  • ImprovedFixed a rare blank screen that could appear right after we ship an update — the app now refreshes itself cleanly.

3 Aug 2026

  • NewSpaceX now updates with a live market price, like your other holdings.
  • NewYou can now enter a value for holdings that have no market price yet (private or newly listed companies), so nothing is left out of your portfolio.
  • NewSelect several holdings at once and delete them together. This also came up from a feedback from a beta tester.

31 Jul 2026

  • NewYour full weekly Brief archive — browse and re-read every past week, not just the latest.
  • ImprovedChanging your holdings no longer refreshes your Brief automatically; you decide when to regenerate it, so nothing happens behind your back.

28 Jul 2026

  • NewAustralian dollar (AUD) has been added, and you can now edit your name, the time zone and base currency in Settings.
  • NewYour weekly Brief now arrives in your own time zone, on the day and hour you choose.

26 Jul 2026

  • NewReset your password from the sign-in page, or change it anytime in Settings.
  • NewYour weekly Brief can now be delivered by email, sent from a verified Kinetiq address.
